The Cayman Islands is a self-governing British Overseas Territory in the western Caribbean Sea. The 264-square-kilometre territory comprises three islands: Grand Cayman (the largest), Little Cayman (West), and Cayman Brac (East). The capital city, George Town, is located at the southwest end of Grand Cayman.

Grand Cayman
The nation’s population is concentrated on Grand Cayman, representing a mix of more than 100 nationalities and a median per capita income of US$56,000. Caymanians represent approximately half of the population. The other half comprises permit holders and tourists, mainly from Canada, the US, and the UK. Unemployment is less than 5%, while inflation has been near zero for the past decade.
The nation also boasts the highest GPD per capita in the world (about US$110,000), and by far the highest standard of living across the Caribbean and Latin America.
Banking is the principal economic engine of the country, with 128 registered banks and banking service firms from all over the world. Every major bank in the world has a presence in Grand Cayman.
The country’s currency is the Cayman dollar (CI$), pegged at $1.25 US dollars.
